NVIDIA Tesla K20 GPU Powers Titan and Nexlink HPC
What has 7.1 billion transistors and is currently powering the world’s fastest supercomputer, Titan at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL)? NVIDIA K20X GPUs powered by Kepler GK110s. Take a step back and think for a moment about the scale of this thing: it is truly phenomenal. Titan is powered by 18,688 GPUs paired to 18,688 AMD 12 core Opteron CPUs. This results in 560,640 processors combined with 261,632 GPU accelerator cores earning itself the number one rank on the Top 500 List. According to its score using the Linpack benchmark, the Titan is clearly a beast even in the world of cluster computing, capable of 17.59 Petaflop/s. Read more about Nvidia® and Nexlink® »
